...Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord. [Ephesians 5:19 ]

People who love music will find many places to enjoy and share it here.  Holy Trinity has a music program that encompasses vocal, instrumental and handbell ensembles. We welcome musicians of all skill levels!  Whether you are a new instrumentalist, just starting out in the school band or orchestra, or a long-time musician wanting to get into a group and play (or sing!) music, there's a place for YOU!

Instrumentalists may find a home on a Praise Team, playing for our praise worship services at 10:45am, or in our Church Orchestra, or even in one of our ensembles--brass, woodwind, string.

Vocalists can join a choir, join a Praise Team, or perhaps present a song as a soloist or ensemble member.  The options are numerous!

Feel free to contact Val Rehrer if you have any questions or would like more information.

Praise Teams

Our Praise Services offer vocal and instrumental musicians an opportunity to play contemporary Christian music at worship.   Popular Christian songs like "He Reigns," "Here I am to Worship," "Love the Lord," "Meet with Me," and many more are sung at this service.  Each Praise Team plays one Sunday of the month.  Musicians in this group are advanced, and practice their music independently,  then rehearse together at 9:30am on the Sunday morning that they play/sing.  Often, these people are recruited from choirs, ensembles and orchestra. Speak with Val Rehrer if you are interested in participating in one of these teams.

Handbell Choir

This five-octave choir leads worship approximately every three weeks. Rehearsals are on Monday evenings from 7-8:30pm, and include training, practice, skills development and techniques and (of course) anthems! Both experienced and first-time ringers are welcome! In addition to their handbell anthems, this choir also teams with the Sanctuary Choir in presenting music at Christmas and Easter anthems and at several times throughout the year.  Director Mike Riggert-Harris would be happy to answer any questions you may have.

Youth Ensembles (Jr. and Sr. High)

Many of our Jr. and Sr. High schools students participate in our Praise Worship teams and in our Church Orchestra. We know how busy Jr. and Sr. High students are, so we have developed a program that "works into" their busy, complicated schedules. We offer an intermittent practice schedule that allows them to perform vocal, handbell and instrumental music at worship following 3-5 rehearsals (depending on the complexity of the music). Youth who are interested in regular participation may join the Sr. Choir and/or work on praise teams.

Kids' Choir - (second through sixth grades)

This is the elementary age choir, encompassing second through sixth graders. They rehearse on Thursday evenings from 6-7pm. This choir offers a comprehensive introduction to music--vocal and instrumental--as well as building solid music-reading skills through games and activities.  This choir is a terrific way to get your child started in music! Kids assist in leading worship through music at worship services each month. In addition to vocal music, they play handbell anthems and Orff instruments, and occasionally accompany themselves and the congregation on instruments. They also "team up" with other choirs and ensembles for intergenerational anthems.

Sanctuary Choir - (high school through adult)

Our Sanctuary Choir is open to people high school age and older. The choir rehearses on Thursday evenings from 7-8:30pm from mid-August through mid-May, and presents anthems on approximately three out of every 5 Sundays per month. The choir also presents a Christmas and Palm Sunday Cantata each year. Their repertoire covers a broad spectrum - from classical to jazz, ancient to contemporary.  Over the past two months, the choir presented a traditional Shaker hymn ("Followers of the Lamb") with Orff instruments,  an Irish folk tune ("Thy Word is Like a Garden, Lord"), an arrangement of the well-known hymn "O For a Thousand Tongues to Sing" (with the Handbell Choir and solo instrument), an anthem based on a traditional Japanese song ("Send Your Word") and a contemporary anthem with piano and brass quartet ("The Call").
